Shawn is Eaton Peabody’s Practice Group Chair for its Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights Practice Group. Shawn focuses on bankruptcy and creditor rights, with a particular emphasis on the representation of lenders, banks, mortgagees, lessors, and other secured creditors in Chapter 13, 12, 11, and 7 cases. She also has extensive experience in the representation of Chapter 7 trustees in liquidation cases, and she has been lead trial counsel in scores of preference, fraudulent transfer, and other avoidance actions in Adversary Proceedings before Bankruptcy Courts in multiple jurisdictions, both as Plaintiff’s counsel and Defendant’s counsel.
Shawn is also experienced in helping her clients with their commercial collection needs and facilitating workouts, as appropriate.
Shawn also has a well-established consumer-debtor practice under Chapters 13 and 7 of the Bankruptcy Code, and she is skilled in counseling her consumer clients in creating and implementing manageable and realistic budgets for their family finances.
Shawn is BV Peer Review Rated for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability by Martindale-Hubbell. She is also a board member of the Local Rules Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maine and the Second Vice President of the Cumberland County Bar Association.
