Land Use Planning Commission Memo – Rule Revision – Nov. 18, 2016

New Rule Effective

The Maine Land Use Planning Commission has adopted three sets of rule revisions, each affecting Chapter 10 – Land Use Districts and Standards.

1. Miscellaneous Rule Revisions
These revisions ensure that the rules are up-to-date, accurate, and as clear as possible. The revisions cover numerous general housekeeping matters, such as correcting citation and typographical errors, updating references, clarifying certain provisions, and updating the names of lakes and minor civil divisions.

2. Appendix F Expedited Wind Energy Development Area (Filing III)
This rulemaking responds to “An Act To Improve Regulatory Consistency within the Jurisdiction of the Maine Land Use Planning Commission,” P.L. 2015, ch. 265 and in accordance with Title 35‐A § 3453‐A. This adoption responds to nine petitions for removal from the Expedited Wind Energy Development Area; the following places have been removed from the Expedited Permitting Area: Albany Township, Carrying Place Township, Codyville Plantation, Forest City Township, Forest Township, Lambert Lake Township, Marion Township, Orneville Township, and T 7 SD BPP.

3. Appendix F Expedited Wind Energy Development Area (Filing IV)
This rulemaking responds to “An Act To Improve Regulatory Consistency within the Jurisdiction of the Maine Land Use Planning Commission,” P.L. 2015, ch. 265 and in accordance with Title 35‐A § 3453‐A. This adoption responds to three petitions for removal from the Expedited Wind Energy Development Area; the following places have been removed from the Expedited Permitting Area: Cary Plantation, Cove Point Township, and Drew Plantation.
