Eaton Peabody Recognized as One of the Best Places to Work in Maine

Eaton Peabody is proud to have recently been named as one of the 2023 Best Places to Work in Maine.

Best Places to Work in Maine identifies, recognizes, and honors the best places of employment in Maine in three categories: small companies (15-49 U.S. employees), medium companies (50-249 U.S. employees) and large companies (250 or more U.S. employees). To be considered, companies must have at least 15 full-time or part-time employees working in Maine; be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity; be a publicly or privately held business; have a facility in the state of Maine; and be in business a minimum of one year.

“It’s amazing that Eaton Peabody has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Maine, but the recognition wasn’t the driving force behind our decision to participate in the program,” said Veronica Lachapelle, COO. “Ultimately, we wanted to hear directly from our employees—so we can make necessary changes based on their feedback and improve as an organization. The survey results will help us pinpoint which areas we need to address, and they help us track how our policies are holding up over time.”

“From an employee’s first day, we do our best to make them feel welcome in the firm. Our open and inclusive attitude contributes to our team’s high job satisfaction and translates into great performance.” Said Denise Gallop, HR Manager. “Company cultures are always evolving, participation in this program give our employees a say in how they want the firm to evolve.”

Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

There were two parts used to determine the rankings. The first consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices and demographics, worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, which consisted of 75 percent of the total. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.

“This year’s Best Places to Work in Maine know the importance of communication, onboarding, feedback loops, flexibility, and diversity and inclusion in a successful work environment. They make sure their staffers feel appreciated, engaged and successful,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media for the East Division. “Along with our partners, the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Best Companies Group, we are honored to recognize the accomplishments of these outstanding businesses.”

The winners will be honored October 11 at a celebration at the Augusta Civic Center, 76 Community Drive in Augusta. Registration and networking begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the awards program at 6:30 p.m.
