Janna joined Eaton Peabody’s Bangor office in 2017 after almost 20 years of litigation practice in the State of Oklahoma. Janna represents both private and public sector clients in the defense and prosecution of claims relating to cybersecurity, federal and state administrative proceedings, commercial and banking, employment, education and Title IX, and insurance related litigation. She brings extensive jury trial experience in both state and federal court, as well as the zealous and effective representation of clients before the American Arbitration Association, FINRA and numerous state agency tribunals. Janna provides her clients with creative, cost-effective and keen representation.

Berney’s litigation practice includes commercial and business disputes, First Amendment, defamation and media defense, product liability, and personal injury. He has successfully represented clients in Federal and State Court trials. He has won numerous trials for major national and local manufacturing companies in defending product liability claims. He represents banks and has won trials defending against lender liability claims.

Berney frequently lectures to legal, business and media groups on a variety of aspects of civil litigation, defamation and how to avoid legal malpractice claims.. Berney has chaired the Maine Bar Association’s Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution and regularly sieves as a mediator and arbitrator. .
