Eaton Peabody Welcomes Four New Professionals

Eaton Peabody is pleased to welcome four new professionals to the firm. Alyne Cistone has joined the firm as a Management Consultant, and Meredith Maller, Patrick Lyons, and Micah Smart have joined Eaton Peabody as associate attorneys. Alyne, Meredith, and Patrick are based out of the Bangor office, while Micah will be based in Portland.

Alyne Cistone is a Kenyan born Lawyer. Alyne joined Eaton Peabody as a management consultant in June 2016. She attained her legal education both in Kenya (University of Nairobi, Kenya School of Law and Admission to the Roll of Advocates) and in the United States (Case Western Reserve University, School of Law, Cleveland, Ohio). Alyne has an inborn passion for social justice, human rights, oceans and environmental conservation, advancement of education, and community development.

Meredith Maller focuses her practice on comprehensive legacy planning. Meredith’s background in finance allows her to consider client asset allocation in conjunction with their estate planning goals. She also works with clients to minimize both estate and income taxation. Prior to joining Eaton Peabody, Meredith worked for Birchstone Moore, a DC-based boutique estate planning firm, and Brown Advisory, a global investment firm with over $50 billion in assets under management.

Patrick Lyons is an Associate in Eaton Peabody’s Bangor Office. Prior to joining Eaton Peabody, Patrick worked as a Term Law Clerk for the Hon. John A. Woodcock, Jr., United States District Court, District of Maine. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2015, where he was the President of the Environmental Law Society, an Articles Editor for the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal, and was awarded the Faculty Significant Achievement Award and the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award in Environmental Law.

Micah Smart is an Associate in Eaton Peabody’s Business Practice Group based in Portland, Maine. Prior to joining Eaton Peabody, Micah graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2016, where he was the Treasurer for the Maine Association for Public Interest Law and Communications Director for the Student Bar Association. Micah was awarded the July 2016 Laurie A. Gibson Award of Excellence for obtaining the highest score on the essay portion of the Maine Bar Examination.
