Dan currently serves in an of counsel capacity to the firm. He is a former chair of the Firm’s Business Law Practice Group and served the firm as its managing partner for seventeen years. He has a wealth of experience counseling business entities and financial institutions in a wide variety of corporate governance and transactional matters. His experience crosses a range of business sectors from high tech manufacturing and waste management to seafood and forest products to healthcare and banking. Dan has represented both borrowers and lenders in sophisticated commercial finance transactions, and he has advised clients seeking to raise private equity. His range of experience also includes counseling clients in connection with antitrust and Canadian-American cross-border trade issues.
Dan has long maintained an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating with Martindale-Hubbell® and is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers and Partners and New England SuperLawyers. In addition to his legal practice, Dan serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine Business School where he teaches business law to MBA candidates.
