Nonimmigrant Visa Application Fees to Increase on June 4, 2010

June 02, 2010

The fees which the Department of State assesses for nonimmigrant visa applications will increase effective June 4, 2010 and will vary based on the type of application. For example, the fee will increase from $131 to $150 for applicants for an H-1B visa. These fees are known as Machine Readable Visa (“MRV”) fees and are paid by applicants to the U.S. consulate with jurisdiction over their visa applications. The fees are in addition any reciprocity or petition filing fees.
