Augusta, ME – Eaton Peabody is pleased to announce that Newell A. Augur, Esq. has joined the firm and will be resident in the firm’s Augusta office. Mr. Augur has been active in the fields of administrative law and government relations for more than fifteen years. He founded his own firm in 2005 and since that time has represented numerous businesses, trade groups and individuals before the Maine Legislature and multiple state agencies. He designed and executed all aspects of his clients’ legislative strategies, monitored initiatives affecting their operations, and cultivated good working relationships with the Governor’s Office, Legislators and other thought leaders on a host of public policy issues. He has been integrally involved in statewide policy discussions on, among other subjects, municipal solid waste disposal, home and community based care, school district consolidation, marijuana legalization, taxation, child welfare and early childhood investment. Prior to starting his practice, he served as the Director of Legislative and Public Affairs for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. As Eaton Peabody’s government relations practice continues to grow, Newell Augur will be a significant asset to the firm.
