The Intellectual Property Practice Group is chaired by Jonathan B. Huntington, working with Bernard J. Kubetz and David M. Austin. This Group advises and represents clients on the existence, ownership, protection and exploitation of copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights. We secure registration of copyrights and trademarks in the United States and internationally. We also represent clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings in the Patent and Trademark Office and as plaintiffs or defendants in infringement actions in state and federal courts. Contractual control of intellectual property is an important part of the work of this Group, including drafting and enforcing licensing agreements, publication and derivative works agreements, non-competition agreements, and agreements for the exploitation of jointly-owned works. In addition, we have been successful in establishing insurance coverage and defense obligations for clients faced with infringement claims.
