Litigation/Dispute Resolution

Shareholder
Chair, Litigation/Dispute Resolution Practice Group

Glen has more than 30 years of trial court experience before the State and Federal courts located in Maine. He began the practice of law as an Assistant District Attorney for Maine Prosecutorial District V which includes all of Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties. His subsequent civil practice is concentrated in the areas of railroad litigation defense, commercial dispute litigation and collections, personal injury plaintiff and defense, medical malpractice litigation and alternative dispute resolution in all litigation areas. He also handles significant criminal law and family law litigation cases for Firm clients. His clients include railroads, business entities of all sizes, insurance companies and individuals throughout the State of Maine.

Recent notable cases include:

  • Successful resolution of a multi-Prosecutorial District, multi-year and multi-charge consolidated proceeding involving claims of improper and insufficient maintenance of right-of-way by a Railroad.
  • Satisfactory resolution of a plaintiff medical malpractice, wrongful death action through alternative dispute resolution and without the need for formal litigation.
  • Award of significant monetary benefits to a client in a family law matter involving the valuation of a closely held family business but without the cost of a valuation expert and the behind the scene counseling of a timberland client through a threatened timber trespass and boundary line case at a far reduced cost and on a mutually satisfactory basis with the adverse party.
Glen's practice is concentrated on railroad defense, employment discrimination, medical malpractice defense and personal injury. His client base includes railroads, business entities of all sizes, insurance companies, and individuals.

Glen is called upon frequently by members of the Maine Bar to serve as an arbitrator in the settlement of civil disputes. He is invited also to serve on medical malpractice screening panels.
