USCIS photograph standard
USCIS to change photograph standard - August 4 2004
Effective August 2, 2004 , USCIS changed photograph standards from the three-quarter face position to the full frontal face position. The USCIS press release announcing the new standard may be found
here.
An illustrative photograph is included in the announcement. The USCIS and U.S. Department of State will now be using a consistent photograph standard.
This change will affect the photographs submitted in connection with commonly filed family and employment-based applications to adjust status, which currently require the three-quarter face position.
USCIS will accept three-quarter photographs until September 1, 2004 As a reminder, all photographs must have been taken within 30 days of filing and be identical.
