H-1B Cap Update

In its first H-1B cap count of this Fiscal Year, as of April 7, 2011, USCIS indicates that approximately 5,900 cap-subject petitions had been filed by employers against the regular cap of 65,000. An additional 4,500 petitions have been filed against the H-1B cap of an additional 20,000 for those with advanced degrees from U.S. universities. See below.

Last year on April 9, 2010, USCIS announced that 13,500 and 5,600 H-1B petitions had been filed against the regular and advanced degree H-1B caps respectively.
