EP to address Statewide Municipal Officials at the MTCMA Interchange

February 11, 2011

MAINE, February 11, 2011 - Five Eaton Peabody (EP) representatives, comprised of attorneys and consultants, will address economic development topics at the Maine Town and City Management Association's (MTCMA) 32nd Annual Statewide Manager Interchange on March 4 at the Black Bear Inn in Orono.

Andy Hamilton and Mat Eddy will provide a MTCMA certification course on "Economic Development Tools" for the state's municipal officials. The first session will consist of a workshop focused on available state and federal financing tools and first-hand accounts of previous applications. A second session, headed by Don Gerrish, Erik Stumpfel and Mike Trainor, will focus on how to plan, manage and apply these development tools once funding is received.

EP has represented hundreds of municipalities, counties and districts with taxation, development, personnel, real estate and collection issues.

"We've been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many of Maine's communities and quasi-municipal districts," said Andy Hamilton, Chair of EP's Municipal Law and Finance practice group. "This opportunity will demonstrate the working dynamic between our attorneys, the Eaton Peabody Consulting Group, and municipal officials across Maine."

MTCMA, a division of the Maine Municipal Association, was created to increase education and promote values within Maine's municipal officials to better serve their communities.
