Eaton Peabody Welcomes Magoon to the Firm

BANGOR, MAINE - Nov. 10, 2010 Eaton Peabody Attorneys at Law are pleased to welcome litigation attorney Megan Magoon to the Firm.

"We are delighted that Megan has decided to return to the Bangor area and will be joining us at Eaton Peabody," said colleague Tim Woodcock, Shareholder in the Firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice.

"She has already demonstrated that she possesses sound judgment and exceptional legal skills, and we are fortunate that she will be using those talents to assist our clients. Megan certainly has a bright future before her, and we are pleased to have her as a member of our team."

A recent graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, Magoon joins the Firm's nationally awarded litigation/dispute resolution practice as an Associate in the Firm's Bangor office. Her practice will focus on all fields of litigation including employment, civil rights, family law, personal injury, insurance and governmental entity defense as well as real estate and contract disputes.

Prior to Eaton Peabody, Magoon clerked for the Honorable John B. Beliveau and interned for the Office of the Attorney General of Maine in the Criminal Homicide & Child Protective Services Divisions. While in law school, she received the American Bar Association and Bureau of National Affairs Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor & Employment Law and the Pro-Bono Award recognizing her 481 hours of pro-bono legal work completed over a three year period. She served as an Editor of the Maine Law Review and published a piece titled State vs. Thurston: An Examination of Assault, Self-Defense, and Trespass in Relation to Domestic Violence. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, minoring in legal studies and business, at Brandeis University.

Magoon is a native of Hampden, Maine.
