Eaton Peabody Welcomes Five New Associates

BANGOR, MAINE – The law firm of Eaton Peabody is pleased to announce the addition of Jason C. Barrett, Ryan Dumais, Rodney A. Lake, Jonathan Pottle, and Thomas Trenholm to the firm.

Jason C. Barrett, Esq. 
Barrett joins Dale L. Worthen and Matthew C. Worthen in Eaton Peabody's Ellsworth office. His practice includes general real estate and litigation matters.
 
Barrett graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2008, where he was the Managing Editor for its Environmental Law Digest. While in law school, he taught classes at Southern Virginia University. Prior to law school Barrett worked with the Hawaii state legislature. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University--Hawaii, completing degrees in International Business Management and Communications.  
 
Barrett is a member of the City of Ellsworth's Knowlton School Property Redevelopment Committee and the City Charter Committee.
 
Barrett has called many places home including Hawaii, Utah, Virginia, Rhode Island, and Maine. He currently resides in Ellsworth with his wife and three children.  

Ryan P. Dumais, Esq. 
Dumais has joined the Real Estate Practice in the firm's Bangor office concentrating on general real estate transactions.  
 
He comes to the firm following the completion of a judicial clerkship with the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine, where he served as law clerk to Chief Justice Leigh I. Saufley. He graduated magna cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in 2007 where he served as the research editor on Maine Law's Ocean and Coastal Law Journal.  
 
In 2004, Dumais received where he received his bachelors degree in Politics and American government, graduating summa cum laude in The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.  
 
Dumais is a native of Winthrop, Maine.  

Rodney A. Lake, Esq.
Lake has joined Eaton Peabody's Tax Practice Group in the firm's Bangor office, where he will focus on all aspects of tax law, employee benefits and ERISA.  
 
Lake graduated from Boston College Law School in 2008 and received his undergraduate degree in history, cum laude, from Tufts University. While at Tufts, he was managing editor of
The Observer newspaper and studied history at University College London. Lake has served as a research assistant to a Member of Parliament in the British House of Commons, and as a Documentarian and Congressional Page in the U.S. House of Representatives.

He is a native of Bakersfield, California.


Jonathan A. Pottle, Esq.

Pottle has joined the Municipal and Environmental law practice in the firm's Bangor office with
a concentration in land use issues.

A 2008 graduate of Vermont Law School, he obtained a Master of Studies in Environmental Law in addition to his law degree. Pottle obtained a Bachelor of Science in Forest Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. His prior experience includes guiding clients in land use and environmental planning, as well as preparing forest management plans and supervising forest operations.


M. Thomas Trenholm, Esq.

Trenholm has joined the Corporate Law and Business Planning practice in the firm's Bangor
office with an emphasis on bankruptcy, commercial transactions, and litigation.

Before completion of his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law,
Trenholm graduated from the University of New Hampshire, cum laude, with a degree in hydrology. He worked in the environmental field for five years as a scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey and as a consultant for multiple commercial clients throughout the United States. Trenholm attended Maine Maritime Academy where he played on the varsity football team and studied power engineering.

Trenholm's personal interests include working on his family's farm, skiing in the mountains of Maine and Wyoming, and enjoying the oil paintings created by his wife, Emily. He serves as a director for a local agricultural association and volunteers as an income tax preparer for the United Way.
