February 14, 2011

BANGOR/BRUNSWICK - February 18, 2011 The law firm of Eaton Peabody (EP) is pleased to announce that corporate finance attorney Michael F. Hahn joins benefits attorney Edward F. Feibel as its most recent additions in the Brunswick office.

"We are excited to welcome Mike to EP," said John Loyd, Shareholder and Business Law Attorney in the Brunswick office. "His extensive experience in commercial finance, workouts, and insolvency matters is a strategic complement to our existing Commercial Finance and Creditor and Debtor Rights practices and will enable us to provide enhanced lender, corporate transactional and bankruptcy capabilities to the firm's clients. Mike's arrival demonstrates EP's commitment to expanding its presence and practice capabilities and strengthening our ability to serve new and existing clients throughout Maine."

Hahn's practice focuses on representing financial institutions, businesses and institutional investors in connection with negotiating, structuring and documenting commercial loans, matters arising under Article 9 of the UCC and representing buyers and sellers of businesses and assets, including purchasers and sellers of distressed debt. Hahn also has significant experience in business reorganization and federal and state insolvency law and regularly advises financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors and businesses in connection with loan workouts, forbearance agreements, out-of-court restructurings, out-of-court winddowns and liquidations, intercreditor issues and all matters arising under the Bankruptcy Code, including cash collateral disputes, DIP financing arrangements and asset sales under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code.

Immediately prior to joining EP, Hahn worked in the Financial Institutions and Bankruptcy practice groups of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, one of the largest law firms in the United States. He regularly represented national, regional and community banks as well as private equity firms in negotiating, structuring and documenting asset-based revolving loans, loan workouts, the purchase and sale of financial assets and matters arising under federal and state insolvency laws.

Admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, Hahn graduated magna cum laude from Pace University School of Law in 1998. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University in 1994.

Feibel, whose practice focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, joined the firm last fall. For more than 25 years, he has represented businesses of all sizes, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and individuals with employee benefit issues. His practice emphasizes advice to employers on the design, implementation and operation of tax-qualified and other tax-favored retirement plans, group health insurance and other welfare benefit plans, cafeteria plans, executive compensation arrangements, Taft-Hartley plans and other fringe benefit programs, as well as their compliance obligations under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Feibel's extensive experience with all aspects of employee benefits is an asset to the firm's clientele.

"EP has made the melding of my practice with its existing employee benefits practice as seamless as possible," said Feibel. "I am enjoying working with the firm's clients and look forward to working with many new clients as we continue to grow the practice."

Admitted to practice in Maine and the District of Columbia, Feibel graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 1982. He received his B.A. from Bucknell University in 1974.
