Bill Devoe Honored for “Extraordinary” Pro Bono Work

October 29, 2007

BANGOR, ME –  Eaton Peabody attorney Bill Devoe will be honored for his “extraordinary” dedication to providing pro bono legal services apart of Pine Tree Legal Assistance’s (PTLA) fortieth anniversary celebration. PTLA is a Maine based program that provides free civil law services to the state’s low income residents.

The PTLA has several in-house attorneys but rely on hundreds of attorneys across the state to fulfill the needs of the people. According to the Bangor Daily News, Maine attorneys are second to Maryland in providing the most pro bono work. The Maine State Bar Association is pushing for more.

Devoe has donated his legal services to PTLA for over ten years with the support of his paralegal Kelly Disley.
