The 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America will include 8 attorneys from Eaton Peabody representing 6 practice areas. This is the first year of nomination for David M. Austin, P. Andrew Hamilton, and Clare Hudson Payne. Thomas C. Johnston, Bernard J. Kubetz, Daniel G. McKay, and John A. Cunningham have been listed with the publication for over 10 years. Outside of Eaton Peabody, last year's edition listed only 2 other attorneys from the Bangor area and John Cunningham was the only attorney selected from the Brunswick, Maine area.

These attorneys were selected by the publication's 1.8 million confidential evaluations completed by only the top attorneys in the country. Thousands of extensive telephone interviews were conducted throughout the balloting process. Copies of the 2007 edition will be distributed late November.
