Eaton Peabody Teams Up with Operation Keep ME Warm - October 2005

Two groups of Eaton Peabody employees teamed up with over 1,200 volunteers to winterize more than 2,220 Maine homes last October. Operation Keep ME Warm is a public-private partnership which strives to install energy conservative and efficient products in the homes of Maine’s low income senior and disabled homeowners with the purpose of reducing energy costs.

“It is so fulfilling to be part of this project,” said Tamrah Brown, Human Resources Coordinator. “The homeowners are so kind and appreciative, and we all enjoy giving our time to help prepare them for the cold winter months.  We plan to continue participating in this program each year, hopefully engaging more teams each year.”

Employee participants included: Kelly Hoovler, Sue Chandler, Lucie Estabrook, Tamrah Brown, Linda Chambers, Melissa Gallagher, Thad Zmistowski, and his son Daniel.

The volunteers are split between 12 county coordinators. Penobscot and Piscataquis counties are organized by Penquis Community Action, Penquis Foster Grandparents, and United Way of Eastern Maine. For more information on Operation Keep Me Warm please visit the Volunteer Maine website.
