Case Study

MidCoast Council for Business Development and Planning

EPCG offers a variety of strategic and master planning services designed to assist communities or other governmental units. In the winter of 2009, EPCG was engaged by the Midoast Council for Business Development and Planning (MCBDP) to draft a short and long term strategic plan. Over three sessions, EPCG staff worked with the organization to identify alternative organizational options, identify short term barriers, and craft a series of short term action steps to address immediate needs. The result was a six month short term strategic plan including a series of specific actions, committee assignments, and research to be completed over the short term. This work will result in a shift in direction of the organization, as it focuses its mission on its role as a council of governments representing member municipalities, and will serve as a bridge to a long term strategic planning and organizational development process to be undertaken in the upcoming year.

EPCG, through a variety of approaches, can help you focus on short and long term strategies in order to define and achieve your organization’s mission and goals.
