Six Maine Communities Receive $590,000 in Community Development Block Grants

AUGUSTA, Maine - The state Department of Economic and Community Development awarded $590,000 to six Maine communities in the third round of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) this year. Funding will be used towards economic development programs.

"These Community Development Grants will support these municipalities in achieving their community and economic development objectives, and lead to the creation of 28 new jobs during a recession," said Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner John Richardson.

Washington County, Cobscook Bay Company, LLC. CDBG fund will be used to purchase a pie machine, drilled well, refrigeration equipment and general operating costs. Grant is the amount of $120,000 and the p[roject will create at least four new positions.
