Eaton Peabody Consulting Group Announces Addition of New Executive Director

Former Brunswick Economic and SDA Rural Development Specialist Join the Firm 

AUGUSTA, MAINE – Eaton Peabody Consulting Group, LLC. (EPCG), a leader in providing economic development consulting services to both private business and development minded communities in Maine, has announced the addition of Mathew H. Eddy and John P. Holden to its consulting staff. 

Mathew H. Eddy, Executive Director, Economic Development Consultant 
As EPCG's Executive Director, Eddy will oversee the day the day operations of the group and serve as the lead contact for the organization. The economic development team will work with businesses and communities on local and regional economic development projects, including community planning, project planning and review, financial and tax impact analysis, and finance packages. They will help communities and businesses reach their mutual goals.
 
Eddy has an extensive and varied background having worked for over 20 years in research, planning and development for the Maine State Housing Authority, City of Bath, Greater Portland Council of Governments and Town of Brunswick, as well as planning agencies in New Hampshire. He most recently served as Director of Economic and Community Development for the Town of Brunswick where he secured $2.2M in redevelopment and Brownfield grants for the Maine Street Station project resulting in excess of $24M and 250 new jobs for the town. In the same capacity for the City of Westbrook, Eddy previously worked with the Westbrook Housing Authority to obtain $5M in tax credits and loans to turn the former Westbrook High School building into senior citizen housing.
 
John P. Holden, Economic Development Consultant 
Holden has over fifteen years of experience in community development and economic growth in Maine. He most recently managed the Community Programs Division of the Lewiston area office of the USDA Rural Development where he was responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and outreach efforts as well as the preparation and underwriting of loan applications. Holden previously worked for the Eastern Maine Development Corporation, first as an Economic Development Specialist and later as the Director of Business Services and Business Development. While at EMDC, Holden was instrumental in forming the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council. Prior to coming to Maine, he served as Director of the Ohio Business Expansion and Retention Program and worked as resource analyst and GIS programmer.
 
Holden holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences from Bowling Green State University and a masters
degree in Community Economic Development from the University of Maine.
