Scott A. Benson

Scott Benson joined EPCG in 2006 after more than a dozen years supporting economic and community development on the regional and municipal level.

Prior to joining EPCG, Scott served as Associate Developer for the City of Augusta, Maine, where he focused on business retention, expansion and attraction. His duties included providing direct assistance to businesses, grant and proposal writing, and staff support to various municipal boards and committees. Scott had direct responsibility for designing and implementing the City's award-winning business attraction marketing campaign.

Scott also was the City's chief liaison to the downtown business community, and collaborated with merchants and other stakeholders to design and implement a CDBG-funded facade improvement program to support that area's ongoing revitalization efforts.

Prior to that, Scott was instrumental in the establishment and maturation of the operations and services of the Mid-Coast Council for Business Development and Planning (MCBDP), a public-private non-profit economic and community development corporation serving the Bath-Brunswick-Topsham region.
