Living in Maine
One of the pleasures of working in Maine is living here!
Maines many lakes, rivers, and forests are a haven for those who enjoy outdoor adventure as well as for those who prefer a less rigorous family outing. Maine is home to one of the jewels of the National Park System, Acadia National Park, as well as 30 State Parks, including Baxter State Park. Baxter is the home of the mighty Mount Katahdin, the end of the line for northbound Appalachian Trail hikers. Our attorneys are able to partake in four season recreation within an easy commute. Many enjoy white water rafting, canoeing, fishing, sailing, golfing, hiking, camping, cycling, cross country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling and skating.
If you like spectator sports, Maine has lots to offer. We are the home of two-time NCAA hockey champion University of Maine Black Bears; the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim AHL affiliate Portland Pirates; and the Boston Red Sox Double-A affiliate Portland Sea Dogs.
Maine offers many cultural activities, including The Bangor Symphony Orchestra, the nations oldest community orchestra; the University of Maines Maine Center for the Arts; The Farnsworth Art Museum; The Portland Museum of Art; The Grand Auditorium; and many local theatre companies. The North Atlantic Blues Festival brings many nationally known blues recording artists to Maine's coast each summer. Maine is home to many other festivals including the Lobster Festival, the Maine Potato Blossom Festival, Yarmouth Clam Festival and many other family-friendly, fun activities.
