Mr. Canders focuses his practice on assisting clients with a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including conveyances, commercial leases, easements, land use licenses, title matters, road and access law, boundary disputes, and outdoor recreation law and landowner liability.


Mr. Canders also has experience in several areas of commercial law, including contract negotiation, mergers & acquisitions, corporate litigation, commercial transactions, commercial lending, collective bargaining agreements, and bankruptcy.

Prior to joining Eaton Peabody, Mr. Canders worked in the office of Maine Governor Angus S. King, Jr., and then worked for several years in the private sector, for Putnam Investments in Andover, Massachusetts and Sprague Energy Corp. in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Mr. Canders attended law school while employed full-time at Sprague, where he held several positions, most recently as Law Clerk to Sprague’s general counsel. He is a native of Washburn, Aroostook County, Maine.
