Mr. Loyd concentrates his practice in estate planning and business counseling as well as municipal, administrative and real estate development law. He advises individual and business clients in the area of estate and asset preservation and the related area of business ownership transition. He is experienced in using various forms of charitable giving and conservation easements in conjunction with other estate planning tools. Mr. Loyd assists hospitals in the development of on and off-campus medical facilities and office condominiums, with emphasis on compliance with federal, state and local land use laws and regulations. Mr. Loyd's municipal practice includes representation of municipal boards of selectmen, water and sewer district boards, grievance commissions and hearing boards. He represents sewer and water districts as well as towns. He routinely serves as Town Meeting Moderator for towns in Mid-Coast Maine, and frequently serves as a freelance Moderator throughout Maine for towns and school districts with unique problems.
