Tax, Pensions & Employee Benefits
Ms. Worthen’s practice concentrates in all areas of federal, state, local, and estate tax law matters as well as executive compensation planning and pension and employee benefit law. Her tax practice focuses on the tax issues of exempt organizations, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, estates, and individuals. She also represents clients in civil tax cases before the U.S. Tax Court and also represents clients in criminal tax cases. Ms. Worthen’s executive compensation practice focuses on assisting clients with the tax aspects of business planning including executive compensation plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and fringe benefit packages. She also assists clients with the tax aspects of business succession planning. Her pension and employee benefit law practice focuses on advising clients in all aspects of employee benefits and ERISA including plan design and implementation, plan administration and compliance, and employee benefit issues arising out of mergers and acquisitions.

While in law school, Ms. Worthen was an associate editor of the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement, and was a clerk at the Appellate Tax Board in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Eaton Peabody, Ms. Worthen was a tax attorney with a Providence, Rhode Island law firm and was also a Tax Manager with the international accounting firm, Grant Thornton LLP.
